Item Olimpíada parintinense de matemática: uma noção metodológica da preparação dos estudantes.(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2018-01-10) Reis, GabrielThe Parintinense Mathematical Olympiad (OPM) is a municipal competition between public, municipal, state and federal schools, which has been held since 2005 and in 2017 is in its 12th edition. It serves as stimuli for the intellectual development of participants of different levels of schooling: (6th and 7th level I, 8th, 9th level II and High School level III). It has the function of highlighting students from public schools at differentiated levels of mathematical learning, but although only the students are evaluated, this performance reflects the methodologies of their teachers. In a qualitative way, this research sought to analyze how teachers are methodologically preparing their students for OPM. With the help of coordination (NAEM), responsible for the organization of the Olympiad, two teachers were selected, whose classes were followed in a period of two months; during observation time it was reported how each teacher acted in normal periods of classes and in classes directed to preparation of the Olympiad, observing the methodologies used and seeking to identify a pattern that explains why these same teachers are achieving annually highlight with their students. Each teacher received a questionnaire, which he proposed to identify mainly if and how their students prepare for OPM. They believe that the differential is in the material used, didactic books based on questions of vestibular and the use of support software. This research provided fundamental information for future choices regarding classroom practice, mainly for the personal and professional development of teachers in the training phase.
