Item As compreensões dos estudantes acerca do conhecimento sobre ótica: análise de uma atividade para o estudo de fenômenos da natureza(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2013-01-21) Brum, Wanderley Pivatto; Schuhmacher, ElcioThe students bring to the classroom a set of explanations about a particular subject, known as prior knowledge, often different from scientific knowledge presented by the school. This point is especially important, as it enables the teacher to discredit the appropriation of knowledge happens for the simple transmission. Previous knowledge are functional explanations for the objects and phenomena, often undeveloped that need to be identified and taken into consideration by teachers of physics. In this sense, we present an educational experience for the study of the rainbow, experienced in physics classes with students of the second year of high school, analyzed from the assumptions of the Theory of Meaningful Learning. We believe that education should be based on personal experiences that students experience and the teacher's role is to advise and regulation of activities with a view to transforming existing knowledge into their cognitive structure. Thus, according to the ausubeliano thought, if the teacher wants to teach significantly, you need to discover what the student already knows, to finally direct their teachings. To collect data, we used semi-structured interviews and the technique of complement. For analysis, we defined three topics: nature of ethics, ideological discourse and moral development, and attitudes of science teachers in tense situation. In general, we find that teachers have significant aspects that characterize the importance of the theme: transgenic, in teaching practice, questioning, valuing records and information offered by the media in general, for example. However, some to still have a partial understanding of ethics in science teaching, not explaining important aspects like their critical and reflective position on the use of transgenic. We noticed that they have notions about the "using ethics", however still find it difficult to carry out in the classroom, a process of ethical education. Keywords: Ethics. Science teaching. TransgenicItem A importância das concepções alternativas na apropriação do conhecimento a aplicação no estudo de bactérias no ensino fundamental e suas implicações para a saúde humana(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2014-02-23) Brum, Wanderley Pivatto; Schuhmacher, ElcioThe identification of alternative concepts of students is important, because they are considered products of imaginative efforts of children to describe and explain the physical world around them. Such conceptions should be regarded as personal constructions, that the teacher has a duty to seek to know, understand, and appreciate to decide what to do and how to do your teaching, along the study of a topic. Taking this for basis, this work aims to identify the alternative conceptions on the theme: bacteria in twenty-five sixth grade students from a public school in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina. The research is qualitative nature and the instrument for data collection consists of a questionnaire where the results obtained were tabulated. In conclusion, to understand how the quotidian and the media influence in conceptions of children can be a decisive factor in the conceptions of science by children. Must be goal of professor to use teaching strategies that allow to identifying the alternative concepts of students, and to think in learning activities that can establish significant relationships between conceptions of students and the scientific knowledge.
