In the Amazon river transport is a mode almost exclusively for the circulation of people, products and information, always being present from past times of the colonization process, integration of the State of Amazonas to the center of South of Brazil and articulation to the world market. At the edge of Parintins City, there is a frequent flow of boats using the river as river linkages between the urban area of the municipality, cities and the surrounding riverside communities. The research work sought to understand the dynamics of river transport networks and the importance of regional vessels and their influence on the social and economic context of inland navigation, especially between Mocambo do Arari and Parintins-AM. The research was based on the dialectic in order to understand the contradictions and conflicts that the line boat presents. As observations are made in loco, verifying the types of regional vessels allows the flow of people and product flow, travel intensities and the qualities of services offered to passengers in this line of recreation. Questionnaire was applied to passengers and informal conversations with shipowners and shipping authorities. In this way the research evidences the contributions of the line boat in the life of people and localities, conflicts and contradictions present in the inland navigation generated mainly by the State, that prevents the development of this modal, awakening new looks of the students contextualizing the river transport network with the contents for the teaching of geography in the riverside reality, since the rivers are necessary elements for the socio-spatial organization of the Amazon region.
