The study of environmental perception is important in order to understand the relation between community and environment and what is the concern about environmental issues. This article aims to outline the profile of teachers, according to their environmental perceptions using as analytical tool the relationship between the mental maps built by the teachers and their living space. The research was conducted with 53 teachers from three public schools in the municipality of Rorainopolis in the Roraima Amazon. The technique we used was the mental map based on the a qualitative approach. The results showed that there is a direct relation between the environmental awareness expressed by teachers with their life experiences, enabling them to shape their environmental knowledge. The described concepts, thoughts and attitudes indicate the representations perceived and constructed by these subjects according to their worldviews. Keywords: Environmental perception. Mental map.
