Method: this is an exploratory descriptive study, of a quantitative and qualitative nature, carried out with mothers and caregivers of people with Down Syndrome. The participants signed the informed consent form and answered a questionnaire with sociodemographic questions, the daily life and lifestyle of adolescents with DS, and how the Social Organization influenced the development of these individuals during adolescence. The findings were tabulated, the material was organized and read. Results: everyone reported carrying out physical activities and educational workshops at the Organization. Participants demonstrated knowledge of laws and guidelines that underlie the care and inclusion of their family members with DS. It was also found that 100% of the main caregivers are mothers and that 90% of these families depend on the benefit received by the person with DS. Furthermore, most of these people with DS are illiterate.
