Páscoa, Márcio Leonel Farias ReisDácio, Gabriela Mavignier2019-12-172024-09-052019-12-142019-12-172014-04-24https://ri.uea.edu.br/handle/riuea/1856In the second half of the eighteenth century popped out in Portugal some publications about the treatise on dancing which were created in order to assist those who wanted to learn to dance , whereas the new society that was being formed, excel by the knowledge of artistic expression, in this case dancing, and should know to perform it gracefully and perfectly. This research is dedicated to the study of the book: Method or Explication to learn to dance the quadrille perfectly, written by Julio Severin Pantezze and published in Lisbon in 1761. The preference for this work was given by the spatial displacements presented with elements that can be used in current choreographic compositions, narrowing the relationship of the eighteenth century dance with the contemporary artistic manifestations. To the reader may understand the method was made an update to the contemporary Portuguese, the same was made with some notes that could cause doubts to the readers.
