Its applications range goes from designing prototypes, manufacturing jigs and devices for industry, education, healthcare to industrial maintenance area. Its main advantages are time and cost reduction of manufacturing objects with complex geometry, breaking the supply chain for the acquisition of replacement parts, and a wide range of materials for engineering use. In the work in question, the main 3D printing processes were determined, highlighting its basic characteristics. Then, a part from a conveyor belt of equipment from a metal-mechanic industry, located in Polo Industrial de Manaus (PIM), was transferred to the study, which was modeled and printed in 3D to assess the same quality. Finally, a comparative study was carried out between the acquisition via importation and the local production of the piece by AM, evaluating the qualitative and quantitative aspects from both. Although the model done by additive manufacturing has managed to reproduce the geometry of the original part, delivering cost and time reduction for the acquisition of parts, the application of Additive Manufacturing does not fit the specific case due to the geometry of a part from the chosen piece. Study on the application of additive manufacturing for the reduction of machine downtime in a shaving appliance conveyor belt.Trabalho de Conclusão de CursoProcessos de Fabricação, Seleção Econômica.
