Methods: methodological research carried out in two phases: literature review and production of the first version of the guide. Results: In the literature review were selected 10 articles and after the analysis, 10 generating themes were identified that were the basis for the guide construction. The guide is entitled “The Guide to High Blood Pressure: Information on self-care for adolescents”, has 33 pages and is organized into two parts. THE part I “Understanding Arterial Hypertension” is subdivided into 6 topics: definition of hypertension, classification, stages, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and treatment pharmacological. Part II “Tips on how to prevent and live well with Arterial Hypertension” is subdivided into 3 topics: healthy eating, physical exercise and support network.
