In this context, Human Resources – HR policies are essential for the satisfactory service to citizens. This article will address a case related to Training and Development – T&D in the planning area of a State Higher Education Institution. To this end, we sought to verify the T&D policies performed by the institution, in order to keep its administrative technical staff trained. Therefore, the research classified as descriptive-explanatory with a quantitative character, considering the universe that corresponded to 33 administrative technicians. The results showed a low level of adherence to the courses, there was a low development of administrative technicians due to the rigidity of the structure, which complies with specific laws that have not been revised for nearly 10 years, it was also observed some training needs and noted It should be noted that the impact of existing courses was low, not motivating technicians or adding new skills for the vast majority.
