Method:Cross-sectional study, quantitative approach, with a sample of students enrolled from the 5th to the 8th period, through an online questionnaire sent to the students' e-mail, later performed statistical analysis. Results: A total of 103 responses were obtained, most of them from Nursing in the 5th period, since more than half do not use the medication, but the rest use it to avoid conception and/or hormonal regulation; the students understand that the use of oral contraceptives can lead to secondary diseases and adverse effects. However, part of the students does not follow up to evaluate the medication at the correct time and present risk factors for its use.
