Item A desigualdade de renda no estado do Amazonas: uma aplicação do índice de Theil.(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2021-07-13) Marques, Wiston Muniz Ramos; Almeida, Neuler André Soares deThis article aims to analyze the economy of the State of Amazonas, aiming at the parameter of income distribution and inequality based on the calculation, the Theil Index. Amazonas is considered the sixth richest state in the country. Its economy has a strong performance in the industry, in which it is interconnected to its Free Trade Zone and with its technological potential based on sustainability. Its share in the country's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) corresponds to around 1.4%, with only the industrial sector accounting for 28.9% of the Amazon's GDP and thus constituting the second largest source of income. From the case study and subsequent analysis of the results, it is evident that the capital Manaus, in comparison to the interior, has the greatest concentration and centralization of the capital command, thus corroborating the financial inequality in the region.Item Determinantes do preço da farinha de trigo no Brasil, 2012–2018: uma aplicação do modelo VAR(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2019-12-03) Nascimento, Marcos Paulo Silva do; Almeida, Neuler André Soares deWheat flour is one of the most consumed items in the market basket of Brazilians, directly or indirectly, and wheat grain is an important item in the import list of Brazil, the fifth in the list of basic items. These products have a relation because one is the raw material of the other. This article aimed to analyze the observed relation between wheat grain prices in the international markets and the exchange ratio and wheat flour prices in the domestic retail market in the period from 2012 to 2018. The statistical tools of time series analysis, unit root Dickey-Fuller test, vector autoregression and the ARMA model have been used, as well as the creation of a proxy for the average prices of wheat flour. The results indicate that external factors, exchange rate and the wheat grain price in the external market, have a statistically significant positive impact on the flour prices.Item Panorama da indústria de biociências e biotecnologia no Brasil: do surgimento a 2011(Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, 2021-07-07) Ferreira, Marcos Vinícius de Castro; Almeida, Neuler André Soares deThe biotechnology and biosciences industry has gained prominence in Brazil since the creation of public policies, which coincide with the advent of modern biotechnology in 1970, requiring a panoramic analysis of the same in order to verify the direction the industry has taken. taken. Therefore, this study aims to describe the main characteristics that encompass the Brazilian industry, by analyzing its spatial distribution, recognizing in which areas they operate and identifying the ways in which the companies inserted grow and develop. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, the study relies on the description of quali-quantitative data collected secondarily. Thus, there was a large concentration of biotechnology and bioscience companies in the Southeast and South regions that operate mainly in the human health, agribusiness and input sectors. The vast majority of these companies, in addition to being small, depend on public financing policies to develop their activities, which are intensely linked to research and development activities, which is the largest portion of investments in this type of industry.
