Abstract

This article comprises the period of the 1990s, the height of the Folkloric Festival of Parintins, from the Blue side of the city and to rescue aspects of the history of urbanization of the city of Parintins from the neighborhood of Francesa, in addition to identifying how the Boi Caprichoso was one of the biggest influencers in this process. For this, we will use journalistic sources such as the newspaper “O Médio Amazonas”, “Tribuna da Imprensa”, “Jornal do Brasil”, “O Commércio” and “Revista Manchete”. We will initially present the Tupinambarana Island itself, briefly telling the story of its foundation, the occupation process, among others. Then the Lado Azul (French and Palmares), Fundação do Boi Caprichoso and the Parintins Folklore Festival with an internal and external look, using local newspapers and outside the region. The research can serve as a local source and provide data that enable the dialogue between academic and school knowledge.
