Resumo

Pressure Injuries (PIs) are adverse event that impacts the healthcare system due to their high cost and prolonged hospital stays, negatively impacting the quality of multidisciplinary care, especially the nursing team responsible for providing care and managing preventive actions. The study, conducted at the Adriano Jorge Hospital Foundation (FHAJ), surveyed the prevalence of PIs to provide data and information that contribute to the development of new scientific evidence for future research in the field of nursing. Objective: To assess the overall prevalence of pressure injuries in adult patients in the orthopedic clinic of a referral hospital in Manaus, Amazonas. A questionnaire was used to collect sociodemographic data on the study subjects, including injury classification and severity according to the Brazilian Culturally Adapted Pressure Injury Classification (SOBEST) and the Brazilian Association of Dermatology Nursing (SOBENDE). Data collection was conducted in two stages: In the first stage, the Adriano Jorge Hospital Foundation provided anonymized demographic data: age and sex. Nursing record data were extracted from medical records. The second stage included the collection of length of hospital stay, predisposing factors, injury classification, and anatomical region of injury location
