Abstract

This study analyzed the perceptions of divers from the Amazonas Military Fire Department regarding the use of 0.5 L auxiliary cylinders in underwater rescue operations, aiming to assess their relevance to operational safety. This descriptive, quantitative study was conducted through the administration of a structured questionnaire to 13 divers. The study investigated experiences, challenges, and benefits related to the use of the equipment. The results showed that most participants consider the cylinder essential or useful, reporting episodes of air supply failure and highlighting the need for specific training and financial resources for its implementation. The conclusion is that the use of 0.5 L auxiliary cylinders can significantly contribute to risk mitigation and the strengthening of rescue diving protocols, representing a viable measure to increase the safety of the corporation's underwater operations.
