Resumo
The pursue for modernization has been driving competitiveness since the great industrial
revolutions and for this to occur, effective and efficient methods must be adopted to originate
innovation in an ecosystem. The ÎAKAÊ Project, an event held in 2019 in Manaus/AM,
destinated at generating innovation through the discovery and resolution of problems in local
manufacturing due to the Manaus Free Trade Zone presenting a large number of industries
in the region. This article plan to evaluate the results provided by the referred Project,
consider the view of the academics who participated in the project, just as well the mentors
who guided them as industries representantives. For this, an exploratory and field research
was used with academics from different areas of activity and industry mentors participating in
the ÎAKAÊ Challenge, a marathon to develop solutions by the ÎAKAÊ Project, and was made a questionnaire and online interviews to raise information on the understanding of the
approximation between industry and academia, impacts and opportunities generated by the
project as same as to suggest improvements to the development of new events in this
format. The results indicate momentary approximation between the two vertices of the
research, causing an awakening to the new trends of innovation, startups and creativity,
being able to impact in a personal and professional ambit the participants after the event. It
was concluded that the movement of unite industry with academia has both similar benefits
evidenced in the study, leading the community around in the search for innovation.
