Resumo

Public organizations have opened their doors to hiring students through internship programs, so as to make use of the benefits inherent in this mode of hiring. Given this, this study aims to analyze the process of recruitment and selection of trainees in the Public Defender of the State of Amazonas, evaluating it in the light of modern People Management practices if it is being carried out effectively, as well as how it performs influence on the work routine, and consequently on the final results. Through the quantitative-qualitative methodology based on the application of a questionnaire directed to the trainees and their guardians, results were raised that show deficiencies in the methods then used, exposing through the researched variables how these methods influence the work routine and the final results achieved. Given this, a different method proposal is presented as an alternative to remedy the existing gaps and enhance the results of the DPE-AM.
