Resumo
The present work sought to understand how democratic management occurs and how it influences the organization of school work at Professor Waldir Garcia Municipal School. The specific objectives are based on verifying that in this school the Democratic Management really occurs, considering this assumption, what is the teacher's role from the principle of Democratic Management, and if this management favors the participation of everyone in the school. For the construction of the theoretical framework, we used as a basis for analysis, studies conducted by Paro (1987-2016), Libiliar (2005), Licínio (2018), Souza (2009) and Veiga (1998). A case study was conducted at Professor Waldir Garcia Municipal School. A qualitative work methodology was used, through an explanatory approach, using field observation to better understand the context addressed by the present research. In addition to the observation, we used the open questionnaire with an elementary school teacher I to obtain data, along with an interview with the school manager and the analysis of documents that guide the school work. The research allowed a better understanding about Democratic Management and its use in a public school. In addition to the reaffirmation of the importance of a more democratic school as an instrument of integral and active education in the development of a critical being and able to reflect in front of its reality.
