Parintins retratado entre linhas: passado e presente

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the transformations that have occurred in the architectural heritage of the city of Parintins. The idea for this research came from a course called Methodology and Practice in Geography Teaching I, which focuses on the center of Parintins, where the process of inertia acts on spatial organization through the permanence of certain uses in certain locations, despite the cessation of the causes that justified their location in the past, as it is a slow moment in the process of change. The current reflection of the architectural heritage puts us in contact with the places affected by dimensions of techniques that have enabled greater circulation of ideas and access to modernization. The modernization of certain architectural monuments has generated impacts on former users, which has led to the loss of the essence of the heritage, thus causing a rupture in history and memory. The spatial product expresses the conditions that underlie a class society and manifests the segregations resulting from forms of land appropriation.
