Resumo
Novas Cartas Portuguesa, a work written jointly by the authors Maria Isabel
Barreno, Maria Teresa Horta and Maria Velho da Costa, published in the 1970s, highlights
not only the repressions of the military regime, but uses representations of the body as a
denounces the conditions under which women are subjugated. Also in the 20th century, Tamara de Lempicka
Lempicka, Polish painter, represents in her paintings the female body from the perspective of the
female gaze, promoting the importance of self-knowledge. This study stands out for carrying out
a comparative analysis between literary art and pictorial art, whose theme is included in
a world that fights for more rights granted to women.
