Resumo
Oval caps do not present good application performance in the client. Model of
CAF5 1Pç 28mm Lid for its dimensional characteristics and specificities has greater
sensitivity to mechanical stress causing deformation. Thus, the objective of this study
was to identify points of attention during the process that can contribute to ovalization
and propose improvements to reduce the incidence of deformed caps. To achieve
these objectives it was carried out a mapping of the process of conformation of the
cap, proposals for improvements and comparative tests between samples produced
without any changes during production and samples produced with suggested
improvements. Correct palletizing, enveloping the pallets and cooling the caps at the
end of the line helping the crystallization of HDPE reduced the index of ovalized caps
by almost 2%, the acceptable 1%. Thus, it is necessary to continue with the
improvements, taking care when performing the palletization respecting the alignment
of the boxes, making the enveloping of the load without causing kneading of the boxes
and cooling of the caps.
