Resumo
The theme “Teaching and reading practice in an 8th year class of elementary school II in a public school in Parintins-AM” seeks to bring to light the reality of students who are growing up in a society with little incentive to read literary texts and less access to books, we can see this due to the low readership rate in Brazil. This work seeks to show that the classroom, the school and the family can make children and adolescents wake up to reading, not just as an educational requirement to make students stand out, but to show the advantages that the habit of reading provides. The work is based on action and bibliographical research with a qualitative approach with a dialectical focus, as it investigates a social reality and intervenes on it, seeking to analyze practices to encourage reading in the classroom in light of the new educational guidelines proposed by the BNCC . With this work, we highlight that the school and the family need to work together for the good performance of students, that the reading experience is a construction in a cycle that starts in the family environment and continues at school.
