A persistência do demônio da perversidade nos contos de Edgar Allan Poe

Abstract

This research aims to analyze three short stories by Edgar Allan Poe that contain the demon of perversity. We aim to expose this element, to evidence its its performance that sometimes is present in Poe's narratives, even if implicitly also compare it to the demons/spirits circumscribed in some mythologies some mythologies, besides the ones mentioned in the biblical texts. The tales which constitute corpus of our work are The Devil of Wickedness, The Black Cat and William Wilson. Methodologically, we will analyze these tales pointing out the persistence of the the persistence of the demon of perversity in the tales cited, elucidating its influences in these narratives.
