Enchente e os impactos socioambientais no bairro São José em Parintins- AM

Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate the socio-environmental impacts caused by floods in the region of the former Itaguatinga neighborhood, currently annexed to São José neighborhood in Parintins-AM. The study aims to identify the various characteristics and aspects of the phenomenon in the area, discussing the socio-environmental problems and the actions of the municipal government. The study focused on the risk areas of São José Operário neighborhood in the municipality of Parintins/AM, where the research observed and found that most families in this neighborhood have already been affected by floods. During these occurrences, families face material damages such as losses of furniture and appliances, damages to the structure of their homes, and physical damages, such as the spread of diseases. The main difficulty described by everyone was accessibility to establishments and residences, as often the only access is through bridges made by the municipal government, which makes mobility quite complicated. Given the presented facts, it is important to highlight the need for actions by the municipal government to prevent and minimize the impacts caused by floods in the region.
