Áreas protegidas no Amazonas: conservação e sustentabilidade como preceitos ambientais indissociáveis

Abstract

Due to the expressive force of the current civilization process, one of the stratagems encountered by the state of Amazonas in relation to current environmental problems was the creation of protected areas or Conservation Units (CU’s). Protected Areas are legally constituted as territorial units that aim the conservation and preservation of important ecosystems. The objective of this article was to analyze the results of the implementation of the CU in the state of Amazonas, using as a parameter the conservation of biossociodiversity. It can be inferred, after analysis of the data that among the positive elements post-creation are: the consolidation of alternatives for employment and income generation through the management of natural resources, reduction of deforestation rates, and Training / consolidation of the Boards of Directors. Resident peoples have thus sought to ensure the sustainability of Protected Areas by engaging efforts to strengthen social organizations and the conservation of biossociodiversity.
