Resumo

The research will present discussions about the contribution of participation mechanisms to the democratic management of public schools in the Manaus Municipal Network. Thus, as a general objective, it seeks to analyze the mechanisms of participation of a Public School in Manaus, which has been experimenting with democratic possibilities in the school environment. Therefore, the specific objectives were: to know the characteristics of the Participatory-Democratic Management and its support in the Brazilian educational legislation; understand the mechanisms of participation in public schools; analyze how the participation mechanisms of a municipal public school are used. The research took place through a qualitative approach, through exploratory research. With this, a bibliographic survey was carried out first, which had the contribution of several renowned authors in knowledge such as PARO (2005), BASTOS (2005), LÜCK (2008, 2009), DOURADO (2012), ARAÚJO (2002), SPOSÍTO (2002), LIBÂNEO (2001, 2007) , MOGILKA (2003) and others, as well as legal documents, such as the Federal Constitution of 1998 and the LDB (Law 9394/96). Afterwards, reading and analysis of documents (Political-Pedagogical Project, School Regiment, minutes of meetings) of a public school of the Manaus Municipal Network, located in the Center-South zone of the city, the documents available on the Manaus Municipal Education Secretariat website . In this way, the research is established as bibliographical and documental research. The readings took place through the technique of content analysis to carry out the theoretical survey and analysis of the mechanisms of participation present in the printed documents, as well as digital documents/Mass Communication (website). Being a relevant research for the educational field, as it raises reflections on the contributions of collective work to promote quality teaching, thein addition to the distribution of responsibilities and contributions in decision-making in school management and the cooperation of democratic-participatory management for the formation of critical citizens who will not only feel the need to participate in the school context, but will also see the importance of becoming citizens assets in society.
