More and more companies are meeting the demands of their customers to remain in the
market in which they operate, therefore, working on the implementation of a appropriate quality
system to the process has become a recurring activity among them. According to Paladini
(2004), "Total quality control refers to a set of strategies that aim to monitor the actions under
development in the organization, precisely to monitor them regarding the fulfillment of general
or specific objectives". The set of strategies that will be addressed in this case study are the
quality tools, the general objective will be the company's own objective of meeting the final
quality of the product required by its customers, and the specific one will be the solution to the
problem identified in the assembly. The tools that will be analyzed in this research are the most
used in TQC (Total Quality Control), but they are not the only ones. They are: Pareto diagram,
histogram, cause and effect diagram, check sheet, control chart, flowcharts and control charts.
These tools can be used by everyone in an organization and are extremely useful in the study
related to the stages of the PDCA cycle. This study aims to clarify to industrial companies the
need to use this methodology, with the most appropriate tools, for the quickest and most
effective solution of problems in the production stages. This research, in addition to positively
influencing the professional training of the researcher in this area of knowledge, will also serve
as a study base for the entire academic community that seeks to specialize in this type of
problem solving.
