Saúde mental e transtorno do estresse pós traumático nos Bombeiros Militares no Estado do Amazonas: fatores de risco, estratégias de prevenção e políticas de intervenção.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impacts of occupational stress and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on military firefighters in the State of Amazonas, considering the regional and operational specificities that intensify psychological illness. The research discusses risk and protective factors related to mental health, highlighting work overload, constant exposure to traumatic events, lack of structured psychological support, and the relevance of chaplaincy as spiritual and emotional support. A qualitative approach is adopted, based on literature review, document analysis, and semi-structured interviews with military firefighters. Expected results include diagnosing the main psychological vulnerabilities, identifying existing institutional prevention policies, and proposing intervention strategies such as guidance booklets, continuous support programs, and strengthening of an organizational culture focused on mental care. Thus, the study aims to contribute to the formulation of public and institutional policies that ensure a healthier and more resilient environment for military firefighters in the Amazon region.
