Análise dos impactos socias e ambiental a partir da proposta de impatação do programa de saneamento integrado - PROSAI, na cidade de Parintins-AM

Abstract

The urban development projects carried out by the Amazonas State government in floodplains in Manaus and some inland municipalities through the Social and Environmental Program for the Igarapés of Manaus (PROSAMIM) have been gaining prominence due to their extensive infrastructure. The specificities of the urban environment of the city of Parintins, the largest city in the interior and the most remembered when it comes to culture and tourism, will be covered by the Parintins Integrated Sanitation Program (PROSAI), which foresees investments in the order of US$87.5 million, US$70 million of which will be financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The research aims to analyze the social, environmental and urban impacts resulting from the PROSAI proposal to be implemented in the city of Parintins, with an emphasis on restructuring urban densification in floodplains, seeking to understand the effectiveness of this approach in solving the city's specific problems. The research adopts a holistic approach, seeking to understand the process of occupation and urban growth of the city and the problems arising from irregular occupations and the geomorphology of the site that allows the flooding of its valleys. The use of a diagnostic method will allow a more accurate assessment of the results, contributing to the understanding of the social dynamics, environmental transformations and urban changes resulting from PROSAI in Parintins. This study aims to provide relevant insights for the formulation of public policies, sustainable urban planning and the promotion of effective interventions in Amazonian regions and environments prone to similar challenges.
