The present work studies the urban network and the river transport that articulate Parintins to the sub-region, discussing the activities of Mercantile Capital and its domains in Parintins and in the places under its influence. It aims to analyze the relations between Parintins and the sub-region, emphasizing its fluvial connections, with its sub-region and between it and the metropolis Manaus. The methodology used in the elaboration of the work consisted of deepening the bibliography on the subject of the study, collecting data through non-participatory observation, applying a questionnaire to a sample of 7 local commercial companies, collecting secondary data in a public institution and producing maps that represent the structure of the network formed by the commercial companies in question. The commercial companies studied here were considered part of the Mercantile Capital due to the multiple facets in which they act in the local economy and conditions of the Urban-Fluvial Territorial System, STUF. These companies achieve articulation between urban centers and localities in the sub-region, using at least two types of techniques: in the stretch between their supplier centers and Parintins, large high-cost iron ferries predominate as the main means of transport. transport of their cargoes, and in the distribution flows for the sub-region, less complex vessel typologies (medium boats) are used. The companies manage to reach, with their distribution capacity, both the neighboring riverside communities and cities in the planning sub-region, instituted by the State, and of influence, which extends to the west of the state of Pará. within the intra-urban space of Parintins, what results is a scenario of constant appropriation of primarily public spaces that currently incorporates Capital Mercantil, generating changes in social relations in places known as riverbanks, in addition to popular neighborhoods in the city.
