Resumo
For companies to be competitive, employees need to be engaged towards the goals
set by the organization. Therefore, the relationship between the leadership practiced
in Yroyak supermarkets and the motivation of their employees was investigated. It was
necessary to identify the main leadership styles and attitudes that encourage
employees, identify the level of satisfaction with leadership and employee motivation
factors, also identify how leadership has been interfering with the motivation of people
in the workplace. For this, a descriptive, quali-quantitative and case study research
was carried out, with the application of a questionnaire. Therefore, it was found that
the Visionary, Democratic and Coercive styles are the most practiced, there is also
high employee satisfaction with the leaders, the motivation factors are satisfied and
the leaders positively influence the employees, which imposes the observation that in
fact, leadership has a fundamental impact on employee motivation at Yroyak
supermarkets.
