Resumo

This work is aimed at a discussion on adult education. Has as theme: “Education and Literacy of riparian adults through a proposal for teaching under the Freirian method.” The general objective was to analyze the methods of literacy as reflection and action for teaching adults considering their culture riverside and as specific objectives: to analyze adult literacy theories related to reading and writing; Show the improvement in teaching through the method; Reflect on the interaction of teaching and the environment in which the school finds itself. so that the following procedures were used in the research: bibliographic survey, the method phenomenological of a qualitative nature since it will lead to opportunities for those who do not attend school. And had as theoretical support, Libânio (1994), Freire (1989), Boas (1994), Brandão (1940, Soares (1085) After studies, it was noticed that it is very the relationship between theory and practice is valuable, when we use the riverside reality as teaching elements. It was one with positive results, because it is possible to be facilitators of adult learning across their culture. So we emphasize that the work was of paramount importance as it served as an anchorage for the initiation of classroom experiences to assist students in teaching reading and writing in teaching learning process
