Os processos fonológicos na fala de moradores de uma comunidade ribeirinha de Parintins - AM

Abstract

This research discusses the phonological processes in the speech of residents of a riverside community in Parintins-Am, and its main objective is to identify the influential and dominant factors that act in the practice of using linguistic variations. To achieve this objective, we chose to use the qualitative approach method, also characterized as a bibliographical research, where we used the theoretical basis of authors such as Labov (1972); Tarallo (1985); Weinrich, Labov and Herzog (2006), who contributed greatly to sociolinguistics studies. The type of studies is characterized as field research, where the object of research is the linguistic practices of speakers from rural areas. To this end, observation and non-directive interviews were used as research instruments. In this way, our main results are the phonological processes that act on the alteration of sounds in speech, thus allowing a metaformosis to occur in the language, where linguistic variation is obtained as the final product.
