Resumo
The aim of this article is to analyze the Montessori method and how it should be used in early childhood education. Montessori's proposal emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, and was characterized by a period in which the school used traditional methods, and faced with this reality several reformist educators were not satisfied. The interest in this topic arose from the process of education currently being developed in nursery schools in the city of Manaus, as the perception of the Montessori Method showed the advancement of the educational proposal that aims at self-education and discipline, and as practices of principles and knowledge arising from the advancement of science and technology that support education.
