Resumo
The purpose of this document is to present the development of a remote control and
monitoring system for an industrial furnace, which was applied to a company´s equipment in
the two-wheeled hub of the Industrial District, in order to help prevent loss of resources,
productivity and possible accidents at work. This system has the ability to send messages by e mails and sms whenever temperature values exceed predetermined limits. The system is
presented through a real model and the data transmission is performed through the industrial
network of the referred company through the Ethernet protocol. First, it shows the theoretical
foundation of the technologies used in this project: Temperature measurement and its digital
processing, Raspberry PI embedded technology, Node-RED software configuration parameters,
Arduino Mega development board, Arduino IDE, industrial automation and PLC. Then, in
Methods and Materials, the stages of project development and the materials used are presented.
Later, in Project Implementation, there is an exposition of what was executed during the work
stages, where the flowcharts of the programs developed in the Node-RED Software for the
system validation will be presented. Exhaustive tests were carried out, as well as the sending of
message packages through the industrial network. The implementation and integration of the
system with the oven´s electrical panel is shown. Subsequently, the development of the
graphical interface for visualization of the graphs of the furnace temperature values in real time
is presented. Then, in Results Obtained, the data of the project in its full functioning are shown
and analyzed. Finally, it is concluded from the data obtained that the Raspberry PI embedded
technology is a viable alternative for low-cost remote monitoring projects and its use in IoT
(internet of things) to help apply the concepts of Industry 4.0.
