Resumo
The lack of access to electricity associated with the concept of energy poverty has been a target
of discussions and studies, especially to propose appropriate solutions at levels of rural
electrification. Thus, this study aims to highlight the embezzlement of the institutional situation
that promotes universal access to energy, through the analysis of the main electrification
policies, such as Light for All, More Light for Amazon, and the main tariff discount modalities.
In Brazil, the reality of remote communities in the Legal Amazon region requires attention,
mainly due to the high levels of energy poverty associated with deficits in the socioeconomic
scenario. When preparing analyzes and literature review, through the descriptive method, about
this scenario in the state of Amazonas, the need to align rural electrification policies with the
socioeconomic reality of the communities is emphasized, through participation of the
population in the implementation of programs, in addition to foster renewable energy sources
and the transformation of management and financial structures, thus promoting programs in
line with local development.
