Resumo

Júlio Cortázar, one of the great names of Latin American literature, uses the concept of the topological structure Moebius' Band in the construction of the Prose of the Observatory. This paper intends to analyze, based on this concept, the perceived identification between the diction of the literary subject in this and the speech attributed to Jesus of Nazareth, both in canonical and non-canonical books. We verified the possibility of formulating an equation of correspondence according to which infinity is for the one, just as God the Father, or Paradise post-mortem, is for the other and how these apparently opposite positions become one when the Jesus of the apocryphal gospels begins to speak, this being the fold of the ring that turns the two discourses into one. Such identity (or identification) takes place, however, through what could be called, vulgarly, the tone of voice, especially if considered a considerable semantic load that may derive from the intersection between the idea of infinity, that of God the Father and that of Paradise post-mortem, the non-physical place from which his enunciations and his authority emanate. Keywords: Moebius Band; Observatory prose; gospels.
