The Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3) is an institution for managing securities
related to company stocks that facilitates access to the trading of shares issued
by such companies, both for individuals and legal entities. In this context, many
investors engage in studies of indicators that provide analytical support in
decisions for buying and selling stocks. The study's objective is to create a
program to conduct simulations of buying and selling shares of 11 companies
listed on the B3. This article aims to analyze the results obtained when using the
Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator in the simulations of buying and selling
shares of these 11 companies on the B3, and to ascertain whether it is
advantageous for investors to use it. As for the study's methodology, a
quantitative approach was followed. Based on the achieved results, information
regarding the time period, number of shares, positive and negative
accumulations, and percentage of positive profit is presented in spreadsheets
within Excel files. Furthermore, these results are understood to contribute to
technical analysis, provide insights into the RSI, assist investors, and aid other
researchers delving into this subject.
