Resumo

The current education of students in school has not always contributed to the application of simple rules of financial management, which is reflected in the reality of many families in debt due to a lack of information about financial education . In view of this, we sought to implement a proposal to transition from Financial Mathematics to Financial Education, through a simulation of family budget education in the 6th grade of elementary school, reflecting on the results with the students. For this purpose, a descriptive analysis was used, given the qualitative nature of this research, through data triangulation, which used as collection instruments a diagnosis carried out with the students' parents, as well as significant scenes from three of the eight classes applied to the students with the help of Didactic Engineering. Through this analysis, it was possible to verify the financial management of the families of the students who participated in the research, as well as their understanding of the family budget. As for the students, their understanding of the concepts of personal and family budgeting was analyzed, as well as the possibility of them using these concepts in their daily lives, through their responses in contextualized activities. Finally, the bibliographic study Finally, the bibliographic study provided a better understanding of Financial Mathematics, in terms of its historical aspects in the National Curriculum Guidelines for Basic Education and in recent scientific research.
