Resumo

The game is becoming increasingly important in the students' learning process. Therefore, how the application of games in the classroom can help to develop the most effective process in learning quadratic functions in high school? The objective of this work is to analyze the impact of the use of mathematical games in the learning of quadratic functions in a 1st year high school class of 30 students from Marcio Nery State School. The approach used was qualitative research, since the data were obtained by direct contact with the environment. To obtain the data, the initial questionnaires were applied with the students and the collaborating teacher; a workshop of games was elaborated approaching the quadratic functions contents; a performance test of the classes was applied, analyzing the performance of the class in which the activities were applied and the other that was used only the traditional method of teaching; and a final questionnaire was applied to the students to verify if the activities applied in the classroom had aroused the interest in the students' learning.
