Resumo
The study analyzes climate variations in Parintins-AM, comparing data collected over eighteen years from records of the Automatic Meteorological Station A123 (INMET) between 2008 and 2025. The objective is to understand the behavior of temperature and relative humidity over the years, highlighting periods of extreme events, such as El Niño, which tends to raise temperatures and reduce humidity in the Northern region. Parintins has a hot and humid tropical climate, with three dry months, but the urbanization process intensifies microclimatic changes and favors the formation of heat islands. The methodology involves quantitative analysis of time series, comparison of proportions, and local data collection using thermometers and thermo-hygrometers. The results indicate a significant increase in days with temperatures above 35 °C in October 2023, surpassing previous El Niño years and reinforcing effects associated with global warming. An inverse relationship between temperature and humidity was also observed. The comparison between the meteorological station data and the field measurements highlights differences attributed to urban characteristics, especially the larger built-up area, which intensifies the heat and reduces humidity. It is concluded that continuous monitoring and analysis of urban microclimates are fundamental to support environmental policies and climate adaptation strategies in Parintins.
