Resumo

Craniocervicomandibular dysfunction (DCCM) is a condition represented by a set of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular alterations that involve sensitivity and/or pain on palpation in the masticatory and cervical muscles, internal disorders of the TMJ, joint noises and limitation of the range of physiological movements. Vestibulocochlear alterations are closely related to cervical and masticatory muscle dysfunctions due to their anatomical proximity and physiology. The objective of this study is to present a case of a 46-year-old female patient, complaining of intense pain in the face, otalgia, ear fullness, somatosensory tinnitus, heachache, limitation of neck muscle movements and vertigo. After anamnesis and clinical examination, the diagnosis was DCCM with the presence of vestibulocochlear symptoms. The proposed treatment consisted of the infiltration of 2% lidocaine into the cervico-masticatory muscles, associated with laser therapy, the use of a myorelaxant intraoral device, physiotherapeutic exercises, and the use of a cervical collar. Subsequently, after stabilization of the dysfunction condition, oral rehabilitation was performed using a removable partial denture.
