Resumo
In order to meet the new management models focused on results, achieve
established goals and promote greater alignment between the institution and its
employees, the Public Defender's Office of the State of Amazonas regulated
resolution Nº 001/2019, also called Meritocracy. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to
understand this new model and analyze its impacts on both the structure and
capacity of DPE/AM members and staff. For this, a qualitative documentary research
was carried out, where data were extracted from the internal documents of the public
institution, important for the object of this study. The data show that, since its
implementation, meritocracy has already influenced 27 training courses on the most
diverse topics and has made available about 1960 vacancies for participation and
integration of the entire staff of DPE/AM. Although this is a recent project,
meritocracy over the years can represent really significant improvements in the
management and functioning of the Public Defender's Office, resulting in an
increasingly satisfactory delivery to the population.
