O Licenciamento Ambiental no Estado do Amazonas como Instrumento da Administração Pública na Gestão de Resíduos Sólidos

Abstract

This Academic Paper aims to discuss Environmental Licensing as an Instrument of Public Administration in the State of Amazonas, pointing out the role and motivations of this Administration to use the licensing process for Solid Waste Management, a phenomenon triggered by the advancement and population growth, urban and industrial. The information and analysis of this study were given through qualitative research, investigating legal documents, public and literature involving the subject. Thus, it was found that the Environmental Licensing process is extremely important for the materialization and operationalization of technical standards and controls, especially of Sanitary Landfills, which are means of proper disposal of Solid Waste, avoiding from environmental impacts and losses to local public health crises.
