“Santo Antônio da Maloca”: Memórias e Culturas socio religiosa, Paraná do Ramos, Barreirinha-AM

Abstract

The present text presents aspects of a historical study about the trajectory of "Agrovila Santo Antônio da Maloca", through the socio - cultural and religious practices of the place. The aforementioned agrovila is on the left bank, descending the "Parana do Ramos" tributary of the Amazon River, 35 km away from the headquarters of the municipality of Barreirinha-AM. We were able to reconstruct the history of the place, based on the analyzes made in a set of interviews produced from Oral History procedures. The use of such sources is based on the assertion that such reports help us, among other things, to understand how the "Santo Antônio da Maloca" agrovila was founded, with emphasis on its religious manifestations. In this way, it is understood that memory is an important place for the transmission and conservation of knowledge.
