Levantamento florístico da família melastomataceae na área do morro da boa esperança em São Gabriel da Cachoeira - AM

Abstract

The family Melastomataceae has a wide distribution worldwide, occurring from the Amazon to Rio Grande do Sul, as they are one of the most diverse varieties of species. Due to the unique characteristics of the group, as whole leaves, in opposite arrangement, without stems and ribs acrodromes, can be easily recognized in the field. They are also very often found in places that have suffered deforestation or anthropic action, as they are indicators of natural disturbance. This work has as general objective to perform the floristic survey of the species belonging to the family Melastomataceae that occur in the Boa Esperança hill in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira –Amazonas. For this, we collected and identified individuals of Melastomataceae along the main trail of the hill and finally, an illustrated guide of the main species that were sampled. According to the survey, the family Melastomataceae is represented in the study area by ten species, distributed in five genera, and Clidemia and Miconia were the only ones that presented more species, while the others (Aciotis, Leandra, Tococa) presented a single species. The ten species of the Melastomataceae family found in the Morro da Boa Esperança Area in São Gabriel da Cachoeira-AM, are extremely important because they provide data on the studied area.
