Abstract

The present work will aim to address the various studies and research that have been carried out on the historical Jesus throughout History. Methodologically, the work was based on bibliographical research with authors who address the theme of historical Jesus. The theoretical foundation was based on Nogueira and Machado (2009), Crossan (2004), Silva (2016), Lisboa (2001), Horsley (2004), among others. The bibliographical research showed that studies and research on the historical Jesus are old and date back to periods before the 18th century. Systematized studies began in the 18th century, intensifying in the 19th century and deepening in the 20th century. Currently, research on the historical Jesus is based on the various contributions received over time and is characterized by the issue of interdisciplinarity, the expansion of sources, as well as the maturation of hermeneutics. Therefore, current research and studies are important to broaden the horizons of interpretations about Jesus conceived from a historical and scientific perspective.
