Nos caminhos do fogo: o processo de construção de forno a lenha e queima de cerâmica

Abstract

This work is based on data developed over two Scientific Initiation projects, where we seek to understand the process of cooking handcrafted ceramics in a wood-fired oven. To fulfill this objective, we went through a bibliographical study on clay, ceramics and types of wood ovens, development of a 3D oven model, building a physical wood combustion oven, and burning clay objects as temperature control through a prototype. datalogger linked to ten thermocouples. With this, we were able to better understand the processes through which the clay object passes until it becomes the ceramic itself and the importance of each of the steps to have a quality ceramic.
