Resumo
The Amazon Forest is a biome composed of rich biodiversity and anthropological plurality,
therefore, teaching about it must contemplate its complexity, from biological and social
issues, highlighting the current scenario, of constant disputes of interest between different
classes. Considering education as an ally of environmental awareness and the teacher as a
guiding axis to consolidate this process, the present work aims to know the formative
experiences of Natural Science teachers that were important to build their thinking about the
Amazon Forest. Therefore, an integrative review was carried out in order to collect scientific
articles, expanded abstracts, dissertations and theses related to the topic of interest, showing
what similar research seeks on the topic, as well as existing gaps. Subsequently, semistructured questionnaires were applied to 6th and 7th grade teachers from 5 public schools in
Manaus - AM and the answers obtained were tabulated and analyzed using Laurence Bardin's
Content Analysis (2016). It was verified that the teachers constituted their conceptions from
the lived experiences and seven distinct categories were created, namely: ‘‘Biodiverse
Environment’’, ‘‘Physical Environment’’, ‘‘Environment with Human Presence’’,
‘‘Extraordinary Environment’’, ‘‘Protectionist’’, ‘‘Conflict Environment’’ and ‘‘Utilitarian’’.
As they constituted experiences, which both teachers and professors, events did not have
experiences - in the form of discipline related visits, such as personal themes, in field
experiences, such as by boat, fishing, to events, museums, municipal and state parks. In
addition, teachers learned or had contact with the interior environment, knowing aspects of
the biome since childhood. It was considered that they were carried out since the publication
of important studies, passing through the form of monographs and post-graduation of theses
and post-graduations. Contributing, therefore, to the sum of current acquaintances,
consolidating it at the national and regional level.
