Resumo

This study, entitled "The use of forest resources for the creation of teaching resources applied to geography education," aims to develop techniques for using natural forest resources in the creation of teaching materials. The research was conducted at the São José Municipal School, located in the São José-Limão do Meio community, in Parintins (AM), with students from the second cycle of elementary school. The study is based on the need to bring geographical content closer to the reality of students in rural areas, using forest resources and valuing their local knowledge, with the aim of promoting contextualized and meaningful learning. The exploratory observational research allowed the development of a field search and practical workshops in which elements such as branches, leaves, seeds, wood, and clay were transformed into pedagogical resources, such as maps and models. The results indicate that the use of these resources favors student engagement, stimulates creativity, strengthens cultural identity, and promotes critical environmental education. Furthermore, it contributes to the construction of more inclusive, sustainable pedagogical practices aligned with the reality of the field. It is concluded that the integration between scientific knowledge and local knowledge is an effective strategy for teaching Geography, providing educational experiences.
