Reaproveitamento de banners na confecção de ecobags: uma experiência de educação ambiental em Parintins-AM

Abstract

Environmental Education (EE) is a field that seeks to raise awareness among people to rethink their attitudes toward the impacts caused to the environment, in light of the problems generated by the industrial development model and excessive consumption, especially the production of solid waste. In this context, this research emerged from an Extension Project with the objective of promoting environmental awareness within the academic community of CESP/UEA through lectures and workshops focused on the production of eco-bags made from advertising banners, as a way of working with Environmental Education.Thus, the project also aimed to present practices that encourage new measures to achieve the objectives of Environmental Education, highlighting its principles related to sustainability and the 5Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle, rethink, and refuse), in order to rethink the use of natural resources and stimulate conscious consumption. Emphasis is given to the importance of reuse as a practice to reduce waste.Therefore, this experience report presents both the theoretical foundations and the practical aspects of the research, from the planning stage to the implementation of the project, as well as the results obtained through the lectures and workshops carried out at the research site. The main focus is on raising awareness within the academic community about the importance of Environmental Education and the measures necessary to achieve its objectives.
